The second day of the Australian 420 championship got underway on January 4 with the races sponsored by The Fibreglass Factory in Lonsdale.

The fleet left the shore in light easterly winds which eventually settled in from the southeast. The wind strength gradually increased throughout the afternoon, which provided excellent racing conditions for the 46-boat fleet.

Yet again, the fleet displayed very close and exciting racing, and as the wind increased the Western Australian pairing of Nia Jerwood and Monique deVries showed their class and dominated the racing.

Yesterday was a rest day for the fleet with racing resuming today, sponsored by Extreme Boardriders at Glenelg.
