At the half way mark of racing at the Thurlow Fisher Lawyers 54th Cherub National Championships, Alison Chapman and Andrew Stephenson from Drummoyne Sailing Club have opened up a handy nine-point lead on their 39 competitors.

As racing resumed in a 15 to 25-knot southerly following the New Year break, the pair secured two straight wins to open a gap on the rest of the fleet.

Their clubmates James Warner and Will Chapman and Lane Cove’s Nicole Barnes and Ollie Jones are tied on points for second and third. Nicole Barnes is leading the Junior Division and Tahlia Phillips from Lane Cove leads the Cadet Division.
