AFTER a third straight day of more than 90 races, Tasmania’s Hutchins Gold sits two wins clear atop the ladder at the 2016 DeckHardware Team Sailing Nationals in Goolwa, South Australia.

The top Hutchins side has been going head-to-head with Scots from Sydney and Friends Blue however there were some changes in the standings today after a couple lower-placed schools won some important races.

Hometown hopefuls Investigator College went into day three yet to post a win on the board however in the mid-afternoon they managed to muster one up, much to the delight of the crowd on shore.

It was a truly great display of sportsmanship and camaraderie as a number of schools rushed down to the beach to congratulate the sailors.

In the girls racing there is only two wins separating all five teams with St Leonards from Victoria slipping from first to fifth throughout today.

The St Joseph’s girls team were the big improver today and are locked with Ascham on 13 wins apiece heading into the final day of racing.

Stay tuned to Down Under Sail on Facebook after 12:30pm as we will be live streaming the semi finals, girls final and grand final races with live commentary.

St Joseph’s from Port Lincoln, South Australia and the second placed Friends team, Friends White, both had great days and moved their way up with St Jo’s equal second with Scots and Friends White clear in fourth one win ahead of their counterparts. There’s still a bit of a logjam from there down with only two wins separating fifth and 14th, however it looks like at least the top four remain locked away.
